Last week was a busy and important period for the Henley Rowing Club with four major events taking place. On Thursday The Schools Head of the River Race, Friday the Oarsport National Junior Sculling Head, on Saturday the Women's eights Head of the River Race and on Sunday the Hammersmith Head.

If you own a boat and have paid your rack fee then your Environment Agency boat licence is now available from the Club ( on the counter in the training room) and should be stuck to your boat as soon as possible. |

With a strong cold tail wind disturbing the river's surface conditions were difficult at the Henley 4's Head rowed 3000 metres upstream from .the Management College to the Regatta finish.

Henley Fours and Eights Head 13th Feb information now available including the results |

Despite the miserable conditions a good crowd turned out to watch five scratch eights battle it out. The winning crew of Jamie Coppas, Simon Thompson, Hannah Read, Abbie Stephens, Gemma Hall, Euan Mcminn, Dan Andrews, Ben Lock and cox Martin Coppas beat crew D of Guy Whitaker, Elliot Cole, Pippa Whittaker, Ian Guiliani, Becci Norman, Mike Hefferman, Jonny Walton, Will Saddler and cox Sian Ralph by quarter of a length. The Marlow Fours and Pairs Head was moved to Dorney this year and was run in 3 Divisions and raced over 1900 metres. The J14 squad were the only entries from Henley Rowing club

Last Saturday the Henley Sculling Head took place on a 3,000 metre course from Henley Business School at Greenlands to the Royal Regatta finish with Henley Rowing Club dominating Quadruple Sculls by winning 5 categories in Division 1. Dan Marett, Mike Ewing, George Laughton and Rich Francis were Head of the River recording the fastest time of 10.34 minutes for the whole event in Elite Quad Sculls.

Henley Rowing Club came away with some excellent results at the Upper Thames Small Boats Head last Sunday with the men's squad winning all the top fours events against top class opposition from London Rowing Club and Tideway Scullers.
