The Marlow Fours and Pairs Head was moved to Dorney this year and was run in 3 Divisions and raced over 1900 metres. The J14 squad were the only entries from Henley Rowing club

Henley Sculls

Last Saturday the Henley Sculling Head took place on a 3,000 metre course from Henley Business School at Greenlands to the Royal Regatta finish with Henley Rowing Club dominating Quadruple Sculls by winning 5 categories in Division 1. Dan Marett, Mike Ewing, George Laughton and Rich Francis were Head of the River recording the fastest time of 10.34 minutes for the whole event in Elite Quad Sculls.

Upper Thames SBH 2009

Henley Rowing Club came away with some excellent results at the Upper Thames Small Boats Head last Sunday with the men's squad winning all the top fours events against top class opposition from London Rowing Club and Tideway Scullers.

Reading SBH 2009

Last Sunday the Reading Small Boats Head Race took place on a 3,300 metre course from below Mapledurham to Caversham Bridge on a part of the river with several bends and narrow channels between islands.

Henley entered several junior crews and came away with wins in three categories.

Boston Marathon 09

The Boston Rowing Marathon took place last Sunday. It is an annual head of the river race on a 31 mile/50 kilometre course on the river Witham from Lincoln to Boston. The race attracts in excess of 200 entries, covering the complete spectrum of the rowing community from the highly competitive to the more recreational crews.There is one lock on the course at Bardney, where competitors have to disembark and carry their boats in a 50 metre dash to continue the race on the far side of the lock.

Captains Meeting
At the Captains Meeting held on 6th September, Ian Desmond was re-elected unopposed.
 
Coupe De La Jeunesse 2009

Following her selection to represent Great Britain Henley Rowing Clubs Pippa Whittaker competed at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Vichy, France last weekend.

T & V 2009

Henley Rowing Club had another successful weekend on the water winning the £750 prize for most successful club at Henley Town and Visitors Regatta. The presentation of the cheque to club chairman Nigel Read was the final formality of the day which saw HRC win a total of five events outright and two events as part of composite crews.
