The Club welcomes visiting crews, but it is important that you confirm arrangements prior to your visit as we have lots of enquiries and need to limit the number of visitors using our facilities, particularly at weekends. Please use the contact page before the date of your visit. Please do not arrive without having obtained prior agreement as you will not be allowed to boat from the Club.
If your dates are suitable we will agree your visit and may request that you complete a Booking Form to confirm your visit and arrangements prior to arrival (for example trailer and car parking, time of arrival etc). There will be a charge for the visit, which must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed.
We request that all visitors familiarise themselves with the Local Water Safety Code and Navigation Rules for the Henley Reach prior to arrival. Please refer to the River Rules and Safety. This information will also be available at the Boat House and is included in the attached Guidance for Visiting the Club: Use of Facilities and Navigation Information.
We will be available for a safety briefing on your arrival at the Club. Please note that conditions on the river are subject to change and that there can be no guarantee that conditions will be suitable for visiting crews - a significant factor is boating downstream through the bridge when there is a strong stream. Your clubs' own safety adviser or nominee for your visit will be responsible for risk assessment prior to boating. Please note our policy on boating with reference to the Environment Agency boards and our own Local Water Safety Code (refer to River Rules and Safety). Current River Thames conditions – advice for boaters can be found at http://riverconditions.visitthames.co.uk/.
For Clubs that are not Thames based you will need a day licence. Further information is available at http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/recreation/boating/31609.aspx
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions prior to your visit.
