Saturday saw the Henley Sculls Head race take place on the Henley Reach. Organised by Henley Rowing club the race takes place over a 3000 metre course from Hambleden Lock to the Royal Regatta finish. This a major event in the rowing head calendar and over 300 single scullers and 100 double scullers and quads took part.

The excellent conditions of Saturday ensured a good race though the strong stream prevented any record breaking times.

Henley Rowing Clubs Junior girls had a relativley succesful day recording one outright win and four second places in the mornings session for quads and doubles. The win coming from the WJ15 double of Hannah Read and Lucy Lewington this was achieved despite the girls having to stop for a significant period due to a clash between crews starting in front of them. Their time was faster than the age group above and made them one of the fastest junior double of the day. The three girls quads competing, Junior, J16 and J15 all achieved second places. Second place also went to the Junior girls double.

Whilst the girls did not record any wins in the afternoons sculling session a number of fine performances where put in. Kay Davies finishing third in 15 strong J15 catergory in a time of 15mins 27secs. This also made her third fastest of the Henley junior girls finishing behind Gemma Mcintosh who was fourth in the 21 strong J16 catergory in a time of 15 mins 12secs the same as recorded by Louisa Pickworth who finished fourth in the women junior event beaten by a number of last years international junior squad.

Tim Lincoln recorded the second win for Henley of the day winning Vet F sculls with team mate Mervyn Theaker finishin in second place.
