At  Poplar Regatta is held on the 6 lane 2000 metre course in the Albert Docks immediately in front on London City Airport. Normally the regatta suffers from strong winds making for difficult racing conditions but this year conditions could not have been better and allowed the athletes to deliver some fine performances.

 The Junior 16 Squad where very successful returning with Two Gold's and Two Bronze medals. The Gold came from the under 16 boys quad of Luke Krauze, Oliver Wimhurst, Simon Jones and Darren Hewitt and the under 16 double of Drew Ford and Chris Clarke. Chris with partner Peter Wagner also picked up a Bronze medal racing in the top junior category against boys two years older than themselves. The second Bronze came from the under 16 girls of Raffie Varley, Kate Chapman, Hannah Blair, Natasha Richardson and cox Alice Skinner this was a very tough race with very little between the first three crews all the way up the course and whilst the girls put in a determined push at the finish requiring a photo to split second and third it wasn't quite enough to get them past the Lady Eleanor Holles crew.
