Burway Head

Henley's Junior 14 and 13 squad were in action last Saturday in the Burway Small Boats Head race which had over 380 entries in all categories from J13 to Veteran.

The Women's Junior 14 quad of Tabatha Willet, Kate Thomas, Abbie Stephens, Joanna Moore with Alex Spink as cox, went off strongly, setting a good pace which won the event with the second crew of Catherine Wilson, Florence Lock, Liz Blair and Gemma Hall coming sixth overall.

Immediately after this race the crews switched to double sculls and re-raced the 3,000 metre course, notching up the best possible result of first, second and third places in WJ14 Double Sculls.

Scott Anthony and George Arnold raced very well in Junior 14 Double Sculls, earning third place in a hotly contested division. Meanwhile the Women's J13 quad of Laura Jane Robinson, Briony Stevens, Amy FitzGibbon, Olivia Corbridge and cox Simone Field, racing for the very first time in their own age group, came a very creditable second just behind Weybridge Ladies.
