Henley Fours Head

Henley Rowing Clubs junior girls New Year winning streak continued when they picked up two wins on their own stretch of water at the Henley Fours and Eights Head.

The girls J14 quad of Caroline Brocklebank, Joe Moore, Gemma Hall, Kate Thomas and cox Lauren Hillyer beat two local clubs Upper Thames and Maidenhead to win their event in a time of 13:41.

The older girls competed in fours and eights. Racing against senior women the J16 girls of Jenny Arnold, Emily Derrig, Orla Millar, Raffie Varley with cox Maddie Wheal finished second behind the semi professional women of Osiris (Oxford University) in the women's senior 4 event. Jenny, Emily, Orla and Maddie then raced in a Junior eight with Chantal Cummings, Pippa Whittaker, Kelly Whittaker, Kate Chapman and Ailsa Buck which they won comfortably finishing 34 seconds ahead of second placed Pangbourne College and also beating a number of the senior women's crews
